Devlog #6 — Boarding Wrecks & The Dark Hunt
This is the update I’ve been most excited to share. You can finally board those derelict ships drifting between planets. What started as a simple looting mechanic has evolved into a tense, pitch-black game of cat and mouse.

🛰️ The Clock is Ticking
Dock your ship and step inside, but move fast. Every wreck is unstable, giving you a random 20 to 90-second countdown before the hull breaches. Inside, you'll find an empty husk, a dead crewmate, or a hostile space pirate. Grab what you can and get out.
🔦 The Dark Hunt
Wrecks are pitch black, and your only advantage is your headlamp. Combat isn't just "hold the trigger" anymore—pirates are smart. They actively dodge your beam, melt into the shadows, and only reveal themselves when firing. If you take a hit, your suit shorts out with yellow sparks, leaving you staggered and unable to shoot back while they reposition. It turns even a basic 1v1 into a nerve-wracking duel.
💥 High Risk, High Reward
Survive, and you can crack up to three loot crates (scaling with the area's danger level) and strip the pirate's body. Watch out for sparking red iron blocks scattered around—shoot them to blow apart walls or enemies, but make sure you aren't caught in the blast.
I also squeezed in a bunch of bug fixes and QoL polish, including a satisfying little spin animation when the factory hands you a freshly crafted item.
The wrecks are out there. See you in the dark!
