Solar Drift — v0.75.5 ALPHA

Day and night have arrived on the planet surfaces. From dawn's pink-blue through crystal-clear noon white, into orange sunset, then deep blue-purple night. Below the stat bar on your HUD, a small clock is ticking — one glance and you know where the sun stands on the planet you're on.

But this isn't just visuals.

Your solar power plant shuts down at night. ⚡🚫 The whole grid dies with it — pumps, lamps, auto-turret, the glow on your storage crate, everything. Until dawn. Your base is, for a while, a silent, dark space colony.

Which means your survival now has a time of day. Plan ahead. Stockpile before sunset. Decide which planet's longer day cycle is worth building on — or just learn to enjoy how your solar system breathes in rhythm.

🎨 The light shift blends smoothly: you land on a night-side planet, and the lighting eases into deep blue over ~2-3 seconds. On takeoff it gently fades back to white. Even mid-flight — drifting from one planet's night into another's daylight — the visuals follow along.

🛠️ A treat for power users: from the dev console, .time day and .time night fast-forward to the next noon or midnight. Handy for testing, build planning, or just to see what your base looks like in full sunlight or moonlight.

Give it a go, and tell us which planet's night hit hardest. 🌌
